A BEACON OF LIGHT IN CUBA

Mosaic Global Missions continues to make an impact in Cuba in 2026

Although our team cannot visit Cuba in person this year, we remain committed to making an impact and sharing our love and the gospel message. Picture a neighborhood shrouded in darkness, yet the church stands illuminated, its walls resonating with worship songs dedicated to the Lord. This beacon of light, which welcomes everyone, is the Iglesia Evangélica Libre church (the Free Evangelical Church) in Havana Cuba, now, with solar panels. Thanks to the sacrificial gifts of many and the tamales the church family ate, solar panels were purchased and installed this March 2026. Mosaic’s history with two churches in Cuba began with Pastor Alberto’s early-morning devotions, which are heard online by thousands worldwide, five days a week. Pastors Yakelin Sanchez in Cacique and Zuleana Estevaz in Placeta, Cuba, extended an invitation to Alberto to come and to preach, and the relationship has continued. 

In 2024, Pastor Alberto and Esther visited Havana, Cuba, to meet with the pastors of Iglesia Evangélica Libre (Evangelical Free Church). These pastors serve in sister churches in the rural area outside of Havana, Cuba. Alberto and Esther learned of the pastor’s desire to help their people with their spiritual needs and physical needs for food.  

In September 2025, a team of four short-term missionaries, Alberto, Eric Zhang, Oki Sutanto, and Jaymes Tate, made the journey to Havana, Cuba, and ministered. They stayed in the homes of church members and saw firsthand the daily hardships the Cuban people experience. Oki summed up his experience, “My life’s been changed forever.” 

In November 2025, Mosaic Global Missions made a significant impact by sending funds that enabled the Evangelical Free Church in Placeta, Cuba, to purchase six pigs and five hens. These livestock, managed by the church, are multiplying and are becoming a steady source of nourishment, income, and hope.
