HEBREWS 1:3

“The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.”

We have been talking the past couple of Sunday about different challenges we face in answering difficult questions about our faith. As we move forward to our new series, some of those questions might remain and may sprawl out into new musings. As we talk about the inspiration of Scriptures and how Jesus is revealed to us in different genres, we must also recognize that the Bible was written by human hands.

Exactly how much humanity is found in the writing? There are lines, demarcations, and nuances to be haggled over here. But there is a place to stand, and that is Hebrews 1:3.

We may not be able to answer these questions to everyone’s satisfaction, but one thing Christians of every stripe agree on is that Jesus is the EXACT REPRESENTATION of God the Father. As scholars argue over Old Testament revelation and whether or not it is progressive, we can know beyond the shadow of a doubt that the FULL REVELATION of God is found in Jesus Christ.

And that is a hill worth dying on.
